Top 5 Business Ideas for the Rainy Season

By Mark Ching
What can entrepreneurs focus on during this season?
rainy day businesses

When it rains, it pours. Not just with water, but with profit from the business opportunities that are fit for the season. Here are a few:

  1. Sell rainy day items

The most obvious: be a reseller of on-demand rainy day items like umbrellas, raincoats and boots. Find a supplier, list your items in e-commerce sites like Lazada or even Facebook Marketplace, and watch the pesos roll in.

  1. Emergency preparedness

When there is a typhoon, it is smart to have emergency items like flashlights, batteries, portable radios, powerbanks and ready-to-eat items. You may also offer these items to your customers.

  1. Get them fashionable

The rainy day season finally allows us to wear our favorite jackets, windbreakers, jogging pants and boots. Flex your fashion skills and start selling your own customized rainy day apparel.

  1. Protect them from diseases

Dengue is one disease that always comes up during the season because they are spread by mosquitos who thrive in wet areas. Convince your customers to protect their health by offering them anti-mosquito items like lotions, sprays, and even plants like citronella and lavender.

  1. Drinks for delivery

What’s one drink that we tend to crave when the rain is pouring? For many, it’s coffee, and for some, it’s tea or hot chocolate. You can try to create a drinks delivery service that focuses on fresh coffee, tea or hot chocolate, or sell instant ones to your customers.

Whatever business you choose, just make sure to work hard on it so you can see it prosper.
